2017-06-05 Meeting in Borjomi Municipality (Samtskhe-Javakheti Region)

NGO “Ecological Awareness and Waste Management” (EAWM) continues the awareness raising meetings in Georgian municipalities. On May 30, 2017 EAWM held a meeting in Borjomi Municipality in Samtskhe-Javakheti region, in the framework of the ‘Clean Up Georgia – Phase III” Project aiming at informing the Municipality on the hazardous waste, in particular, chlorine/chemicals, on the territory of Georgia and its negative impact on human health and the environment.

2017-06-02 Meeting in Martvili Municipality (Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti Region)

NGO Ecological Awareness and Waste Management (EAWM) continues the awareness raising meetings in Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti region. On May 16, 2017 EAWM held a meeting in Martvili Municipality in the framework of the ‘Clean Up Georgia – Phase III” Project aiming at informing the Municipality on the hazardous waste, in particular, chlorine/chemicals, on the territory of Georgia and its negative impact on human health and the environment.

2017-06-02 Training of Chemistry Laboratory Staff of Gori Municipality Public Schools

On May 17, 2017, EAWM conducted a training of chemistry laboratory staff entitled “Registration, Safe Handling, Warehousing, Laboratory Usage, Utilization and Transportation of Chemical Substances and Waste in Educational Establishments" in Gori. The training was held the framework of the “Clean Up Georgia – Phase III” Project.

2017-06-02 Training of Chemistry Laboratory Staff of Zugdidi Municipality Public Schools

On May 19, 2017, EAWM conducted a training of chemistry laboratory staff entitled “Registration, Safe Handling, Warehousing, Laboratory Usage, Utilization and Transportation of Chemical Substances and Waste in Educational Establishments" in Zugdidi. The training was held in the framework of the “Clean Up Georgia – Phase III” Project.

2017-06-02 Meeting in Abasha Municipality (Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region)

On May 23, 2017 EAWM held a meeting in Abasha Municipality in the framework of the ‘Clean Up Georgia – Phase III” Project aiming at informing the Municipality on the hazardous waste, in particular, chlorine/chemicals, on the territory of Georgia and its negative impact on human health and the environment.

2017-05-24 Biodiversity Protection Day

Within the framework of "Clean Up Georgia " campaign a clean up action was carried out in Bolnisi municipality. The action was dedicated to the Biodiversity Protection Day in which teachers and pupils of private school "Davitiani" took part.
Within the scope of the action, approximately 2 ha area was cleaned up, 5 m3 of waste were collected and about 25 volunteers took part in the event.


2017-05-23 “Clean Up Georgia” Project (Phase III) Meeting in Borjomi Municipality

May 23, 2017, Georgian Society of Nature Explorers “Orchis” arranged a meeting in Borjomi Municipality with the participation of representatives of Municipality Administration (Gamgeoba) and Assembly (Sakrebulo), non-for profit juridical persons and others

2017-05-11 "Clean Up Georgia Together" - Clean Up Action in Sagarejo

On April 29, in the the framework of“ Clean Up Georgia”campaign a clean up action was carried out in village Gombori of Sagarejo municipality , dedicated to Earth Day under the title "Clean Up Georgia Together". The event has been organized by the local coordinator of the Greens Movement of Georgia/ Friends of the earth- Georgia.

Employees of Sagarejo Gamgeoba, Forest Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection and representatives of village population participated in the action. About 3 hectares of land was cleaned up and 20 m3 of waste was collected. Around 60 people took part in the event.


2017-05-11 "Clean Up Georgia Together" - Clean Up Action in Guria

April 22 - Earth Day, one of the largest environmental events in the world, in which millions of volunteers take part annually.

Clean up actions in Guria were carried out in all three municipalities (Lanchkhuti, Chokhatauri and Ozurgeti)., where together with local population the government officials, representatives of education system and various agencies were involved.


2017-05-10 "Clean Up Georgia Together" – Clean Up Action in Sighnaghi

On the occasion of Earth Day the clean up actions were carried out throughout Georgia in the framework of the campaign “Clean Up Georgia”.

On April 25, with participation of local population, employees of N(N)LEs and self-government officials was carried out clean up action in Sighnaghi. During the action were cleaned up Sighnaghi Tourist Routes; The surrounding area of the village Bodbiskhevi protected forest; The roadsides of Tsnori-Lagodekhi central road. Approximately 10 ha area has been cleaned up and 17 m3 of waste were collected. About 180 people participated in the event.


2017-05-10 Clean Up Action in Adigeni

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22 worldwide. The week dedicated to this day was held in the framework of the campaign "Clean up Georgia", which was marked by clean up actions in the regions, with participation of local population and governing bodies.
The clean up action dedicated to Earth Day was carried out in Adigeni Municipality (April 28). In the course of the event the central districts and squares of the municipality were cleaned up. . Approximately 300 people took part in the action. During the action 10 hectares of land were cleaned up and 40 m3 of waste was collected.


2017-05-10 "Clean Up Georgia Together" - Clean Up Action in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara

April 22 - Earth Day, one of the largest environmental events in the world, in which millions of volunteers take part annually.

On the occasion of Earth Day Week, clean-up events were held as part of the campaign "Clean Up Georgia" in Adjara. Representatives of local government took part in the action together with the organizers.


2017-05-10 Clean Up Action in Aspindza

On 28 April, in the framework of “Clean up Georgia ”campaign a clean up action has been organized in Aspindza dedicated to Earth Day Week. The event was organized by the Greens Movement of Georgia / Friends of the Earth-Georgia.

During the action, roadside areas leading from Aspindza to Vardzia, the vicinity of Vardzia and the surrounding areas of the road leading from Vardzia to Rustavi, neighborhoods of the landfill were cleaned up. About 12 hectares of land was cleaned up and 17m3 of waste has been collected and taken to the landfill. Around 130 people were involved in the event


2017-05-10 "Clean up Georgia together" Clean up Actions in Mtskheta - Mtianeti Region

In the framework of "Clean Up Georgia" campaign the Greens Movement of Georgia / Friends of the Earth-Georgia organized large -scale campaigns throughout the country. On April 29, on the occasion of "Earth Day" a clean up action was held in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, organized by the local coordinator.

During the action town Mtskheta and Tianeti municipalities were cleaned up. The central districts of town Mtskheta and Mtskheta municipalities, as well as the centers of the villages Mskhaldidi, Lisi, Mukhattskaro and Tskhvarichamia have been cleaned up. Approximately 10 ha area has been cleaned up and 4,5 tons of waste were collected.The event was attended by representatives of the Department of Municipal Improvements of Mtskheta Municipality Gamgeoba, school teachers and pupils, about 100 volunteers.


2017-05-09 Clean Up Action in Akhaltsikhe

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22 worldwide. The week dedicated to this day was held in the framework of the campaign "Clean up Georgia", which was marked by clean up actions in the regions, with participation of local population and governing bodies.
The clean up action dedicated to Earth Day was carried out in Akhaltsikhe Municipality (April 28). In the course of the event adjoining territory of the Town Hall and the central districts of the municipality were cleaned up. During the action 7 hectares of land were cleaned up and 11 m3 of waste was collected. The event was attended by 120 people .
