Greens Movement of Georgia/Friends of the Earth Georgia

The Greens Movement of Georgia / Friends of the Earth - Georgia (GMG/FoE-G) is an organisation aiming to protect the environment, human and ethno-cultural surroundings according to the principles of sustainable development; to end the technocratic and utilitarian treatment attitude towards nature; to establish ecologically safe technologies; to build solidarity and peace between people, and in particular to build an ecologically and socially sustainable society. The goal is to build an ecologically and socially sustainable society and to take actions in specific actions.
Established in 1988, the Greens Movement of Georgia is one of the largest and oldest environmental organisations in Georgia. It has 46 local groups throughout the country and more than 2000 members. In 1991 The Greens Movement of Georgia became a core member of Friends of the Earth International (FoEI), largest world-wide democratic environmental organisation with daughter organisations in 50 countries. FoE Georgia actively participates in FoEI programs on international and regional levels.

 
Georgian Society of Nature Explorers "Orchis"

Non-governmental Organization Georgian Society of Nature Explorers "Orchis" was founded in 1997. The mission of the Organization is to explore the nature and contribute to the development and implementation of measures aimed at environmental protection for the purpose of creating better, safe and healthy environment for the population of Georgia. The superior management body of the Union is General Meeting of members which directs the Union activities. The Organization has Board (of Directors) and a Chair.

 
EcoVision -The Union of Sustainable Development, (2012-2014)

EcoVision – the Union of Sustainable Development was founded in 2001 with the purpose to: introduce Sustainable Development concepts, promote renewable and clean energy as an alternative sources  of energy, facilitate improvement of legislative basis; participate in creation of various protected areas including historical heritage, preservation of biodiversity and cultural legacy. One of the major focuses of the Union is to raise public awareness though fostering environmental care and vision in population. The mission of the Union is to support the formation  of  long term  vision and mentality, to uphold a  policy of natural resources efficient use thus, minimize a manmade negative impact on the nature. EcoVision Union is strongly committed to the solution based programs through synergic approach to handle  with the local problems as  a part of  global concern of world ecosystem. The Union takes a course to respond problems through public participation by encouraging local population to be actively involved in the problems solution. The use of local human resources in their professional and practitioner capacities consolidates effort to successfully meet ecological challenges such as climate change, biodiversity conservation and desertification existing in the country. EcoVison targets the above mentioned through best practices and lessons learned.

 
"Ecological Awareness and Waste Management"

“Ecological Awareness and Waste Management” was created on the basis of an association of scientists, professionals working in different fields, environmentalists and volunteers, actively involved in protection of environment beginning from the 2008-2009. Their first activities were mainly associated with prevention of and response to the unauthorized release of chemicals to the environment and identification of the most polluted areas ("environmental hotspots") all-over Georgia.
