Clean up Action on the Adjacent Territory of Ilia Chavchavadze State Museum in Saguramo
In honour of the 180th anniversary of the birth of Ilia Chavchavadze a clean up action was carried out in the adjoining territory of Ilia Chavchavadze State Museum in Saguramo, organized by the Greens Movement of Georgia / Friends of the Earth-Georgia in the framework of "Clean Up Georgia" campaign. Representatives of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Administration and students from International School of Economics ISET took part in the action together with the organizers.
Within the scope of the action the house-museum access road was cleaned up along with its square and surroundings, as well as the courtyard of the museum. About 100 volunteers participated in clean up activities, organized as part of the anniversary celebrations, during which about 6 m3 of waste was collected and 1 hectare. area was cleaned up.
After the action, students were offered opportunity to visit Ilia Chavchavadze House Museum. On 8 November will turn the 180th anniversary since the birth of Ilia Chavchavadze.
The clean up action on the adjacent territory of Ilia Chavchavadze State Museum in Saguramo was organized within the framework of the project - "Clean Up Georgia" (Phase III), implemented by NGO Consortium - " The Greens Movement of Georgia / Friends of the Earth Georgia", Georgian Society of Nature Explorers “Orchis, “Ecological Awareness and Waste Management”, with financial support of the Government of Sweden and in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia.
