Clean up Action in Gergeti Village of Stepantsminda Municipality  Within the framework of the campaign “Clean-up Georgia” on 17 June 2012 a clean up action was held in Gergeti Village of Stepantsminda Municipality on the adjacent territory of the Gergeti Monastery in which the participants were the youths group of the Greens Movement of Georgia/ Friends of the Earth-Georgia and 4 representatives of the local Environmental Rangers’ Service. The aim of the action was to clean the adjacent territory of the Gergeti Monastery and the walk paths before the start of tourist season.

Clean up Action in Kvareli City  On 16 June 2012 a clean up action was held on the Ilia Lake which was much polluted due an event for the youth held the previous day there. The action was held within the framework of the campaign “Clean-up Georgia”. In the action there participated 25 schoolchildren of N1 Public School of Kvareli and Communal Service members.

June 5 World Environment Day: Clean up Action in Zestaponi Municipality  Within the framework of the campaign “Clean-up Georgia” on 5 June 2012, World Environment Day, a clean up action was held in Zestaponi Municipality with local population and 20 representatives of Zestaponi communal service participating in it. During the action 4 hectares area along the 20 km length Zestaponi-Shrosha section of Zestaponi-Khashuri connecting motorway was cleaned from different types of wastes, polyethylene bottles and bags as a result of which 3 cubic meters of waste were collected, which were disposed at the existing operational landfill by the Zestaponi communal service.

June 2 is the Mtkvari Protection Day
 On June 2, the Mtkvari Protection Day, on the initiative of the NGO consortium the Greens Movement of Georgia/Friends of the Earth – Georgia and “EcoVision”, Union for Sustainable Development together with the International Organization “Global Water Partnership-Georgia” organized a clean up action of the Mtkvari embankment line in the framework of the Project “Clean-up Georgia – Public Awareness Raising and its Involvement in the Improvement of Solid Wastes Management”. Along with the organizers, students of different universities and volunteers participated in the action.

Regional Seminar on Municipal Solid Waste Management  A regional seminar on municipal waste management was held on 23 May 2012 in Stepantsminda which was attended by representatives of different structures of Stepantsminda Municipality Administration.
The people present at the seminar were provided information about the modern technologies in the field of waste management and the best practices in the whole world. Popular manual on municipal solid waste management and maps developed in the frame of the Project were presented at the seminar which was followed by intensive discussions around them. A group work was also introduced in accordance with the preliminarily prepared examples. The group members presented it and discussions were held on the problems connected with the wastes.

Spontaneous Clean up Action in Mleta  On 23 May 2012 the Project Working Group were traveling to Stepantsminda with the purpose of holding there a Regional meeting/Seminar on solid wastes and arranging a clean up action there. In Mleta we noticed a big amount of scattered “garbage” near the spring and spontaneously took a decision to clean the polluted area and give an example to other traveling people and the local people trading there.

Exhibition of the Products of Solid Municipal Wastes Recycling Enterprises Functioning in Georgia at the Exhibition Hall “Expo-Georgia”  For the popularization of solid municipal wastes recycling in Georgia and support of the enterprises engaged in this sector, on May 16-19 at the International Exhibition Construction and Interior organized by “Expo-Georgia” construction and household products received through the recycling of wastes and produced in Georgia were exhibited in the frames of the Project Clean-up Georgia.

Clean-up action in Gori Municipality  On 15 May 2012 within the framework of the campaign “Clean-up Georgia” a clean up action was held in Karaleti village of Gori Municipality with 60 schoolchildren of the Public School and local population participating in it. During the action the center of the village (spontaneous landfill) and its adjacent area equaling 2 hectares was cleaned from different types of wastes, polyethylene bottles and bags as a result of which 5 cubic meters of waste were collected, which were disposed at the existing operational landfill of Gori by Communal Service.

Clean up Action in Vani town, Vani Municipality  On 1 May 2012 a clean up action was held in Vani town of Vani Municipality within the framework of the campaign “Clean-up Georgia” in which participated Vani Communal Service, local population and the people working in the proximity of the territory to be cleaned – 100 people in total. During the action the station territory of Vani town and its adjacent territory of 2 hectares were cleaned from different types of wastes, polyethylene bottles and bags. As a result 1 cubic meters of waste was collected, which was disposed at the existing landfill by the local Project Coordinator and Vani Communal Service.
